Best Day Ever

Our Tickets!

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my GOSH!!!
My friend with Jenny!

She signed my program! Look at that!
And she signed my CD I bought(: Happy days!!!
Yes. Today was the best day of my life. Why, you may ask? Well, I got to go see Jenny Oaks Baker LIVE!!!!! And it was such a small audience, very intimate. Perfect. So I got to talk to her afterwards!! I was able to tell her how much I love her, and how much she has influenced me. I was able to tell her how it was her music that has inspired me to practice more and to learn that I really do love the violin. I owe a lot of thanks to her. The first CD I got of hers was a birthday present from my mom. It was her Grammy-nominated Wish Upon A Star. That was the one(: So then I instantly fell in love. And I bought most of her songs. She became my idol. And all I can say is at least she is my idol instead of someone who is on drugs and in rehab all the time. She is an LDS woman, daughter of Elder Dallin H. Oaks, very wonderful. Even at her performance she would say how she loved the song she was playing because of the Spirit it brought. It's not just her music that makes me love her so much.

Well, today went rather slow. I test drove a car with my dad. Sat in an office for 45 minutes without actually talking to the guy we were waiting for. Then my dad took me to Sub Zero where I got some VERY yummy ice cream(: And then we watched a movie together, and I got ready, and went to the performance. While I was there, I got so excited! You think I was excited before-hand, you should have seen me then. I went with my stand partner in orchestra and my mom and sister. Afterwards, we talked to Jenny's mom and dad a bit, then Jenny herself! And it took me a while before I could say much. I even flat out told her "I am so excited, and so scared to be here meeting you. I can't stop smiling or shaking." She laughed. Then she signed the CD I bought (one of the only I don't already own). She signed the CD very general. Just "To Taylor. Love Jenny Oaks Baker" But then I had her sign my program. She signed that one after we had talked a little bit. She signed that one "To Taylor. Great meeting you! Keep practicing. Love, Jenny Oaks Baker" Then I took a picture with her. I about DIED!!! I was so excited, I was struggling to breathe right. Before I left, she told me about another concert she was having here in about a month, where they were going to have all of the percussion and the harp. She said that one was gonna be really fun and amazing. So I told her I would come!  And she told me to come say hello after that one too!!!!!! Oh my gosh. I was so happy!!! I got to meet my idol today, you guys!!! That's a pretty dang big deal! And now I can't stop smiling or laughing or getting all giddy! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight! Sad thing is I have to wake up at 8 for a parade. But oh well(:

Sorry I am writing so much and with so much excitement. Just today was huge and exciting for me. So all of you who hate how much I am talking about this, just deal with it!(:

I'll post the videos here soon(: Probably tonight again... But yeah. I'll for sure post them!

First Official Post!

I know it's not a great picture, but this is the symphony!
A pretty picture that my mom took at the concert, and I edited(:
So on Monday, I got to go to a Utah Symphony Performance!! It was my first time ever going to one of the concerts. And it was SO MUCH FUN! See me, being a major fan of music (particularly music with a violin, since I am a very avid violin player, as proven by the address on my blog -- its french for "lover of the violin") this performance was one of the greatest things of my life. I got to hear wonderful music and see and hear just amazing players. It made me very excited. And I have decided one of my life goals is to play in an actual symphony. I know I am already in a youth symphony, but I want to be in a big one, like this(: And yesterday (Tuesday) I got to go to a conference called a Hope Conference where we listened to a couple speakers about having hope and finding the good in life. The two major speakers were Kris Belcher and Hilary Weeks. It was a very good conference, and I am so happy I went. I know I may not have been so excited at first, but it definitely is something worth my time. And on Friday, I get to go to a Jenny Oaks Baker concert!!!!!!!! For those of you who don't know, she is a violinist, who is AMAZING! She is the daughter of Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Twelve. She is seriously my violin idol. I have many dreams of becoming as good as she is. And one day, hopefully I will be(: So overall, this week has been, and should be, very good. If nothing else, these few events I went to/am going to will pull the week together(:

One of the Hardest Things

One of the hardest things I have ever done is create this blog. I spent over an hour trying to name it and to come up with an address for it. Haha(: But now I have one! And I am excited! Because, lately, I have picked up the interest of reading blogs, so I thought "why not?" and I made one just for me(: I have no idea what I am going to write about half the time, and I don't know how often I will post something. But I have a blog!!
